Learn how to design your rooftop in Virto.MAX.
When your background reference has loaded you can start the design of your rooftop.
To start select the roof option and preferred shape to create the outline.

Rectangle: Draw one line from which a full rectangular shape can be dragged out. Click again to finish and the roof surface will be displayed in orange after which you can decide the rooftop settings.

Polygon: draw the full outline of the rooftop as a polygon. Select multiple points to create the exact shape and finish by connecting the first and last point together or by simply pressing enter.
After the outline of your roof is created you will be able to give it a name and decide which kind of roof type matches best.
Flat roof
The parameters you need to enter for a flat roof are:

The width and height of the parapet (outer roof wall)

The height of the roof itself

The minimum edge distance, this is the distance you want to stay away from the edge of the roof for panel placement.
After entering all parameters press done to finish.
Shed
The parameters used for a shed are:

The height of the eave and ridge (the lowest and highest side of the building). You can also define the height of either and set the preferred slope angle of the rooftop.

The minimum distance to stay away from the eave/ridge.

The minimum distance from the sides of the building.
Open gable
The parameters that are used for the open gable are:

The height of the eave and ridge (the lowest and highest side of the building). You can also define the height of either and set the preferred slope angle of the rooftop.

The minimum distance to stay away from the eave/ridge.

The minimum distance from the sides of the building.
Hip
The parameters that are used for the open gable are:
